During the summer of 2021 I designed a 7-piece collection of hand-woven products made by Rwandan women using traditional hand-weaving skills for select Starbucks Reserve locations. The color palette was based on Starbucks’ new Rwanda Hingakawa Reserve® coffee. The types of products included in the collection were proposed by me and the COO based on cost margins, while still trying to deliver an array of best-sellers and interesting designs for the Starbucks customer. The limited & exclusive collection launched in 2022 at select Starbucks Reserve locations in Milan, NYC, Seattle & Chicago. Like all of All Across Africa’s products, the collection was fair-trade and brought an incredible amount of jobs to the local Rwandan market, ranging from hand-weaving, dyeing / sourcing the fibers & operations.
